This is a bad time to try and seed cool season grasses, like fescue.

If you are still in Harnett county on sandy soil the warm season grasses will be happier I think.

Seeding, plugging or sodding warm season grasses, like centipede, bermuda, or zoysia will still require a lot of watering to get them to germinate or root.

The planting season for a cool season grass opens up in around 40 days. Aug 15 - October 15, with mid Sept being ideal.
