We've tried before to rehome this pup, but we have had no success. And our landlord has now dropped the hammer and said we need him out of our apartment by EOM. He's 2.5 years old, pit/chow/bulldog mix (the pit is the problem). He's in great health, loves to play and run. He is good with our other dog, and plays well with our little one. He is fixed. I really don't want him to go to the pound, I don't think he will get a fair shake there. We have tried a few times to find him a new home and it seems we get the scammers who just want to know where we live, for whatever reason. Most rescues are either full or put us off, being his a mix, and we never hear back from them. If I had to guess, an ideal home would be one with some land (nothing crazy, but a backyard for him to roam and sniff and play) and be loved. He was found on the side of the road in Greensboro as a puppy, and the guy who found him was going on vacation and was going to drop him at the pound if no one to take him. We took him and he has been good, I really hate to have to give him up but we're not at a point where we can move to keep him.
He'd eat my mini daschunds and my wife would kill me so I am out. Heck we don't spend enough time with our current dogs to tell the truth. Teenagers will do that to a family. Good luck, I hope you find him a good home.
Is he house broken? Trained to basic commands (sit/lay/stay)? Leash trained? No promises...but let me try to butter up the wife a bit...
House broken, crate trained. Sit and stay yes, lay is hit or miss. Leash trained somewhat, like he doesn't know his strength.
Ok...like I said, no promises. Let me start softening up the Missus lol If you do find a home, dont hold off just for me
Any other pics available and how much does he weigh? But more importantly, would he eat my chickens if left alone with them?
He wouldn't eat them, but he would love to play with the dogs, and the teenagers! I have 2 and a little one, understand completely!
I can dig up some pictures, he is about 55 lbs. Probably not eat them, same as above he will probably chase tthem all over to play. Our other dog, 7ish lbs so about the size of a small chicken, has never tried to eat him. He is just a big puppy that likes to play.
No, my daschunds are usually jerks to other dogs and team up on n them. It is mini kraut dog torture for the other dogs and they get pissed off. My little guys are instigators.
So, I have to ask- does he come with any food? How much he weighs has been asked.. Sent from notthedroidyourelookingfor
We have some that can get you through the first few days, it's a sensitive skin and stomach food, he shares it with our smaller dog. Also have his probiotics, he had a tummy flair up and started him on these and it's been very well under control.
Call Merit Pitbull if you can't find a home. They foster and place any dog that is pit bull or pit bull mix. We had to surrender our Pit Mastiff mix when we moved to an apartment between homes. http://www.meritpitbullfoundation.com/ Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Lol, sorry bud- I was making reference to a very old thread back on the Canadian bacon side, a WTF moment when in a similar thread some joker asked "How much does he weigh and does he come with any food?" But if he has certain dietary needs, that's good to know. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
This is why we had the pound reclass the dog we rescued from pit/mix to Lab/mix....problem solved....now our home owner insurance policy is not being broken Best of luck getting this boy a good home!!!!!
