Some of you know that my 17-year old son makes knives. He started when he was 13 and is largely self taught. I bought this one from him this weekend. He made it for himself, but decided to sell it and chase another design. LOL 3” blade. 7” overall. Made from a 1/4” antique file he found at a flea market. The scales are from a block of mystery wood that came out of a deceased gunmaker’s estate I bought years ago. Some wood guys on a knife forum thought it is flame box elder when he posted a pic of the block. Whatever it is, it sure has simple beauty and elegance. He made the sheath and firesteel as well. I plan on using it backpacking and hiking. It is big enough to do most chores one would need to do while still being small enough to not get in the way, whether on a belt or lashed somewhere on my pack. I’ll add a paracord lanyard.
