New Lee progressive press

Looks like they are trying to improve the Pro 1000, making it a 4 station with the locking bushings. If they get the priming system right they wont be able to make enough of these. Being Lee that is a big if though.

Well, it looks like the priming system will be the same primer system used on the classic turret (and others). Not what I would prefer.

If I didn't already have a Loadmaster I'd consider this, but I cannot tell from the info provided how does the indexing system work? That's a weak link in the Lee presses I've owned so I'm interested to see if they re-engineered that. The Lee priming system I always thought worked great... I never had any issues once I figured out how it liked to be set up.

But, you have to add all sorts of parts to the base unit to get it running so the $150 price tag is not the real price. Count on buying a shell plate, powder measure, priming arm, case feeder, etc.

Ive never used that version before, what don't you like about it? Is it not reliable, doesn't seat deep enough, too much effort? Just curious, I may buy one anyway since I have everything else I need besides a shell plate.

Yep. Gonna pre-order one. I already have all the breechlock bushings from my C reloader setup. I've never had a primer issue with my Classic cast turret and the round primer trays.

It is manually operated. After I figured out how to adjust it on my turret press, it works reasonably well, but I would prefer not having to manually operate it each cycle on a progressive.

Street price is $106, I already have the breech inserts, I have the safety prime, I have a powder measure I can move to it. I pretty much just need a shellplate and case feeder.

Im keeping this tagged and looking for your review when it arrives :)
