She better be careful, then. She might end up getting the teamwork speech. If there's one thing history has shown us, those in political power have little mercy for those who don't hold the political team up.

I didn't get the significance of this until just now. It's not that she tried this sneaky maneuver, it's that she tried it at the wrong time.

The .gov can get away with any unconstitutional sneak attack they want... once. It may only last for a short time (unless big blue state) and when struck down can't be done again as easily. In this case she used the one shot at a dumb time for a dumb reason, got it brought into the courts where it will eventually be nullified. Now a larger scale maneuver can't be tried later because it's already been debunked.

That's why the antis are denouncing it, not because it's wrong but because they wanted to use it themselves later?

"We have a very serious situation in our communities that requires serious, immediate results.”

She's going about this all wrong.

You want serious, immediate results? Just put the word out there that with all the limited law enforcement resources that have to be dealt with, the state does not have the time, resources, or manpower to investigate any Paul Kersey events.

Then let nature take its course.
 
Let's try everything we can to control gun violence EXCEPT trying to control the criminals committing the gun violence. Yeah, sounds about right. Oh, and let's make everyones life more difficult and dangerous EXCEPT the criminals causing the problems. Brilliant!

I'm actually glad she's doing this - she's out in public pushing hard everywhere she can and getting LOTS of attention for it. Despite the support from her low-influence fellow travelers, it seems the higher-ups in her party (and 'leaders' of both stripes) are very uncomfortable with their plan and strategy being exposed on this local scale. The Upper Echelon, national politicos are mostly silent on this, unless I'm missing something (which is possible).

As was said above, this may be a probe to see how people react & adjust the plan accordingly. Then again, it may be a lefty-loose cannon accidentally shining a light on what was supposed to remain in the shadows.

Trying to get the case thrown out since the order has changed? That's what NY tried to get their stuff out of the courts and it didn't work so well.

The upside is that her full order had zero impact and they pointed that out in the article, so if the BIG ban doesn't work then the small ban also can't work since the big one already encompassed all the 'zones' the little one does. It's probably important to point that out, cutting a failure in half doesn't make it not a failure. We'll need that bit of info at some point.
 
She's trying to twist the narrative more obviously toward "for the children" so she can say she is just trying to protect children in parks and playgrounds.

The witch needs to be condemned to walk alone in Albuquerque parks and playgrounds every night from sunset to sunrise.
 
It will get thrown back in her face, as we have seen lately, if there is a place that needs more good guys with guns on the street it’s Albuquerqu, i use to live there and it’s been hanging on by a thread for years.
