So, I guess Ontario Knife Company just announced that they will be making a new automatic, out the front, rail mounted, bayonet...

No word yet on when they'll be available or how much they will cost... But, I think I'm going to have to buy one to mount on my Tavor TS12 bullpup...

It's supposed to be 13" overall length when extended...

I was just looking at the pic and thinking, "Why didn't they mount the casing horizontally instead of vertically? This would make the whole thing lower profile and the blade would be horizontal, which should slide between ribs more easily..."

What do you think about this?

I bet you hate it because it's too tacticool, and not good for skinning wild animals. :)

Don't worry, I'll let you play with mine when I get one, one day.

Obviously, The preparatory command of "Fix bayonets" will need to be changed.
It's confusing now.

The resulting cost of reprinting field manuals and retraining the manual of arms may outweigh the benefits.

Hopefully it has fake knife mode for change of command ceremonies. Fake knife is where it retracts into the handle but looks like it stuck in. Many stitches will be saved. It may offset the cost.

As Tim said, I think it is relatively pointless for me. So Ill need one at least.

Slashing is an up and down motion. Do y’all not do bayonet training in the coast guard?

Nope... Our Mk18's had a bayonet lug, but no bayonets were issued.

There was no bayonet training in boot camp.

Also, at the time I went to Iraq for 15 months between 2006 and 2008, the Coast Guard had restrictions on the size of the fixed blade knife you could carry. I wore a standard kabar on my kit, in Iraq. Some high ranking CG officer came for a visit and told me I had to remove my kabar because it was out of regs.

A few hours later, when the idiot left our base, my OIC told me to put it back on...

Slashing?

I just assumed it was all like, "LUNGE! Pokie, Pokie, Stabby, Stabby as the bad guy runs toward you screaming."

Good Lord... They finally put it up on their website. I'm not paying $500 for it...

One of y'all need to buy it and then sell it to me cheap on the BST...

If you get one, be careful with transition drills.

Just sayin'

I’ll wait for the Chi-Com Airsoft knock off. I’m sure that’s the actual market for such a thing.

Can the blade stop be removed? Asking for a friend.

$500 bucks... that seems... excessive.

So how long until someone is arrested for open carrying a rifle with this, or a knockoff, attached because his state doesn’t allow auto knives? Because of the high price I’m going for April 2022.
