new savage coming in january

Gonna be a game changer.

Actually I really like Savage stuff. From some of what i've heard, it may actually be a "game changer" with regard to a focus on precision components out of the box.

If it's in 6.5 Creedmore, I'd buy one tomorrow.

Saw a Barrett in 6.5 over at Ed's gun shop in Vass. Holy hell - $5k, but it was pretty

Give them a few months for any bugs to be fixed and prices to come down and see what you can find. I'm betting they will be nowhere near MLP any more.

It's a Modern Sporting Rifle (MSR)...not a EBR...(evil black rifle)......LOL

It will be interesting to see what Savage brings to the table for their AR package. I believe the general consensus is that it is AR-10 not AR-15. In addition to the standard .308Win and .243Win chamberings Savage does chambers a LOT of their rifle line in 6.5 Creedmoor already.....this could indeed be interesting. Perhaps they saw the success of the Ruger Precision rifle and decided to try something slightly different.

It definitely looks AR-esque, but has anyone seen photos of the actual rifle yet? What little I have seen of it from the teaser video reminds me quite a bit of the ACR.

I'm buying one just to do a review on it. I am a big savage fan, I got my frankengun to 1/4" groups for under $750 including optics. Ever since that I have been in love with their barrels, actions, and stocks.

Honestly it's making me want to go to SHOT Show this year. Looks like it will be unveiled there.

Yeah, that $$ tag is a little blown up for me. Interesting rifle nonetheless.

If this is it, I'm sorely dissappointed....

Ever since I bought my American Ranch in 5.56, I'm not that attracted to the AR anymore.
I'm not an AR guy myself. I also like the ranch rifle.

Man. You can only take an AR so far with Magpul stuff.

Yeah, I was holding off on rebuilding my bolt gun waiting to see what was coming. I'll order the new barrel for the bolt tomorrow.

Over $2k MSRP on an ar-10 is putting it well into Armalite ans DPMS ranges. If it were sub $1200 then they might have something. And when did blackhawk make a trigger? I hope it's not total crap.

Really, especially since Savages Accu-Trigger in their bolts is so good.

I'd put savage against dpms on anything any day though I admit Blackhawk trigger makes me wonder lol

reviewers I seen though are very happy with it's accuracy I assume this is base model not planning on buying one myself though.

So I picked one up.

Only things that set them aside are the target accuracy barrels and the rear sights. Accuracy is really nice for a potentially sub $700 gun.

Same here dpms isn't going to come close to a savage.
