Hello everyone!

I'm a fairly recent Upstate NY transplant to NC who was recommended this forum by a good friend of mine who I met at work, so just wanted to say Hey to everyone in here.

I'm an Army vet ('02-'08), husband (5 yrs), and proud father of two boys who's simply looking for a forum to hang out in and meet new people around the state and my new AO of Kernersville.

Nice to be a member on here, so many thanks to all for having his forum established!

Howdy from a few miles south of you in Davidson County!

Welcome to the forum

Welcome and thank for joining up with us here. Please reach out to others and invite them to join up with us also.

@Outlandish_Bandit Glad to have you join. Welcome to NC. Can't blame any conservative or libertarian for leaving New York for more free and pro 2a states. NC is an improvement over NY, but we still have work to do on Constitutional Carry, ending the Jim Crow Era purchase permit system, and vigilantly defending what we already have from those who wish to restrict liberty.

Thanks for your service, and make yourself at home!

Before I welcome you could you answer this.

Which is your go to battle rifle.
AR or AK?

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, and on a firearms forum, that's a fairly.. loaded question. Based on my usage of both in different circumstances, I prefer the one that's more accurate out of the box adn packing grease, yet is more maintenance intensive: AR.
With that being said, Kalashnikov's pee shooter does a damn good job of firing a full clip after being dragged through the (mud, sand, water), something the AR would have hiccups over.

Good answer. :)

Belt fed is fun, but is heavy to carry around, especially considering the larger the caliber, the heavier the round...

But it is "entertaining" to let a few linked grenade rounds (MK19), or more than a few of the 30 caliber (7.62x51 NATO) variety!

He used "clip" to be more civilian-jargon friendly. [emoji6] Hahaha

You should only use clip in the place of magazine if you're rapping or singing and you need to rhyme. Otherwise, we prefer magazine. "Mag" is also accepted. :p

Welcome to the forum!

I think you can hold you own with this crowd.

Thanks for your service.

Now. Welcome to the madness. Glad to have you here.

As long as they're not as nice as Iraqi insurgents, or as personable as external auditors, or...

I think I can figure this out.

Thanks for the welcome, and nice pup in your avatar! I've an Australian Shepherd myself, and a good friend from NY has a schutzhund-trained German "Pancho".

@Outlandish_Bandit , welcome to the forum, we're to have you with us. I noticed that you were very careful not to name Alex as your friend from work. That's good that you're trying to distance yourself from him, however, he did expose the truth. You will be judged accordingly form here on out. Welcome to the south and welcome to CFF.

That pup celebrated 1 year with me today. He is a rescue. He's about 11 years old. I got him when we were on the CSC site. He's my old dog and we love him.

Just watch for the 'nanner puddin fights. They get epic. We will also fight about mayonnaise and cornbread. We'll fight amongst ourselves like brothers but the people here are top notch.

I'm sorry, do know a few people from work named "Alex", but I do not know to whom you refer to here? [emoji850]

You're not in New York anymore. That's not typical civilian jargon for us Southern gun enthusiasts. Clips go in M1 Garands and SKS's ;).

We use proper specific language describing things in the south. Don't worry we'll get you up to speed. :D

Actually, after transitioning from the military to civilian life, I've found civilian enthusiasts in general to be much more attuned to specificity of nomenclature, regardless of region.

Were you one of my troops, however, I'd consider letting you off for correcting me by virtue of your correctness. [emoji6]
