Two stories I unintentionally came across over the past two days that I haven't heard mentioned in broadcast news, nor discussed here on CFF and I don't understand how. Have I just been living under a rock and this is old news to everyone else?
After he took the shot....“I asked what was going on, what he could tell me, and he told me I shot the kid,” according to the KBI transcript. “I probably was distraught and I kept on saying that I’m screwed.”
While his actions were moronic, and presumably not malicious, which somewhat explains the lack of coverage, this next one...... is utterly beyond my peon understanding how it hasn't been in daily rotation on the news:
The group of six burst into a Rankin County home without a warrant and assaulted Jenkins and Parker with stun guns, a sex toy and other objects. Elward admitted to shoving a gun into Jenkins’ mouth and firing in a “mock execution” that went awry.
Once inside, they handcuffed Jenkins and his friend Parker and poured milk, alcohol and chocolate syrup over their faces. They forced them to strip naked and shower together to conceal the mess. They mocked the victims with racial slurs and shocked them with stun guns.
After Elward shot Jenkins in the mouth, they devised a coverup that included planting drugs and a gun. False charges stood against Jenkins and Parker for months.
Shooting a two year old, mistakenly identified as an adult male, is a whole different thing compared to playing Russian Roulette with an autoloader on someone suspected of miscegenation.
I mean killing someone with a choke hold, or plugging them for eating ice cream in their apartment with the door unlocked starts to look pretty benign in comparison.
Is this not news because it's Mississippi? Is this not news because it's Missouri?
Is this not news because its more than most can stomach to hear about?
It's getting to where I don't even want to know anymore, the rest of the world can burn for all I care.
It's a beautiful day outside, I am going to try to enjoy it, and pray I forget I read any of this.
