Not your average Subaru owner

I bought my wife a 2020 Outback. Best car I’ve ever owned. If I didn’t need a truck for work that’s what I would drive. Rides good, sips gas, and you can park it anywhere. My son liked it so much he bought one to drive back and forth to work. We drove it to Wyoming for an antelope hunt. It handles those rough ranch and BLM roads just fine, as good as my pickup, maybe better. Only downside is everyone thought were were a gay couple.

2015 subaru outback limited 4 cylinder. Just under 100k miles. Best vehicle Ive ever owned. Would buy another in a heartbeat.

Wife picked a CRV AWD locally instead and loves it.
My mother is on her second one. Every time I have to drive it, and want it to accelerate, I think of that children’s story with the line, “I think I can, I think I can”. The CVT makes it feel like it’s “get up and go”, “got up and went”.

I tried to be a fan of Subaru and bought my 2015 Forester new after all the glowing reports about dependability .had to have both lower control arms replaced and a new set of tires as a result to tune oh $2400 at 80,000 miles. Transmission valve body went out at 100,400 miles to the tune of $ 1700. Fortunately Subaru covered that because they had previously extended the warranty on the transmission to 100,000 miles because they were having problems with them. Since about 80,000 miles i have to add a quart or more of oil between oil changes and at 139,000 front end is going again. All i can say is buyer beware!

My wife and I have a forester and an ascent. Both have been great but there has definitely been a lot of jokes at our expense. The south doesn't seem to be a fan of subaru but I find most mountainous or snowy places have a fair shair of subarus.

I don’t think anybody associates Subarus with Karens…..

Everybody knows most Subarus are driven by lesbians
I own a 2022 and 2017 outbacks, I own a single shot Winchester 69 with a 4 foot barrel and am not a Lesbian, im a HESHE that is converting to German Shepard when my free Joe paid surgery is approved. Arf.... I'll scratch you with my beautiful long nails.

My 2004 Forester had the classic head gasket and wheel bearing issues. Has been fine otherwise and is still being driven by my son to school.

I saw a 2005 Baja yesterday that needs some love, and I would have been willing to acquire it if it were for sale for the right price.

Now I have inherited a 2022 Crosstrek from my mom (who can no longer drive). At least it is the trim that has the 2.5L engine.

My close friend in HS had a Brat and we had a lot of fun in that thing. We lived in a 4wd centric area and thing held it's own on some pretty gnarly trails and water crossings.
His mom had one of those SVX cars that was also pretty cool.

I know for a fact I’m not alone in swearing, Subaru Outback in some language translates to:

STAYS In Left Lane Doing Speed Limit. Exactly.”

MORE confirmation; yet ANOTHER Subaru Outback driver positively insists on blocking PASSing LANE - continuously from Mebane all the way to Clemons - and had traffic backed up for 1/2 a mile, if not more, the entire time.

NC REALLY needs to join other southern states in posting “Left Lane is for Passing” and shaming drivers whose unfortunate childhoods lead them to behave anti-socially.

Could that be an unmarked NCSHP in front of the Subaru?

No. And I am more than confident because shortly before I snapped this pic the driver of that black vehicle was in front of me right behind the Outback for a good 5 minutes and the driver honked and flipped the Outback driver the one finger salute when he finally got around the idiot …

👍 Looks like you got your priorities in life straight!

I‘ve yet to spend time with anyone on their death bed, in hospice, a skilled nursing or assisted- living facility that said, “I wish I’d spent less time outdoors in beautiful places.”
I go every other year and it's hard to overstate how great of a mental reset it is to only have a hunt occupying your mind for 7-10 days.

I think I have the only Subaru in America that has a "Insured by Glock, My other ride is a A 10, Hang Tyrants and Dog Abusers" My plate reads "A10rd4u".
