For my Ruger 1022 that I am adding a .920 barrel that is threaded, I am to be going with either a Stocky's or Boyd stock. I have 3 Boyd's stock and the only problem that I have had is the plastic that they put around the magazine. Replace both parts on the 308 and 6.5 CM.
With either of those stocks, do you need a barrel band?
