NRA Show, who's going?

I don't think you should pay for non refundable tickets.

Got my flight and hotel room booked. My first NRA convention was in Dallas, 2019

I can't afford another NRA national meeting. The last I attended, in 2017, cost me several $k in custom guns.

I did meet many great folks. Had smoke breaks with Massad Ayoob, conversations with Julie Golob, Gabby Franco, Rob Latham, Les Baer, all the Miculeks and others.

a lot of gun ranges require NRA membership for insurance purposes.
they offer the best coverage for the least amount of money.

last NRA i went to was in Charlotte.

Wonder if there will be any protests outside like at the some conservative conventions, meetings or rallies?

Must have been a lot of pressure to cancel. I thought I read that it was the 150 yr anniversary this year.

It was.

I am not a trade show kind of guy but I get stuck with them alot.

This show was going to be 6 days of my life and within a hour it was replaced with a 2 day event is SC for wholesale training.

Fun times.

Let's see how Shot Show goes

I'm not in the industry at all - but I've met several people who are through competitive shooting. They all said the same thing - NRA > Shot Show by 1000x. They looked forward to meeting the customers vs the business BS at shot. I guess both are necessary, but that's what I've heard. Had a good time at both NRA shows I've been to.

Shot is a event that allows a company to stake it's flag in the ground. Do meetings with suppliers etc.

One advantage of Shot is face to face time with buyers.

Some orders are placed, but more tire kicking is done and orders written in February during the buy group shows.

I have not been to an NRA National Meeting yet. I did go to SHOT in 2020 and enjoyed the show. Got to meet people that work for vendors I have done business with over the years, but never met in person. Found a couple of new vendors with innovative products. And I took a couple of training classes. Overall it was a positive experience and would like to go back. Based upon what y'all are saying, the NRA meeting has been added to the list for the future.

...since the NRA show was cancelled due to COVID.
H&K, Beretta, Vista (CCI, Federal, Speer), 5.11, and others all were pulling out.
Yes, it's due to "covid" but there's probably a bit more to it than that...
keep in mind that NOBODY wants to be associated with the NRA right now and their board members are fleeing before the pain comes down.

What you wrote is the "story" what I know to be true is that H&K, Vista, 5.11, Beretta did not have a booth in the floor. They did not pull out, because they never signed up.
