Nvm / Who can use this thread to please help me with wiring 2 switches in a wall? Pics

I have no idea what is happening on that circuit. I disconnected what I thought was the last in the chain, but that killed an outlet that I wasn't expecting. I disconnected that one and the one I thought was the last was hot. Like wtf. I have no idea.
This is a perfect example of why being someone whose electrical work experience is industrial, residential wiring practices often times absolutely make me want to pull my face off.

I would really like to figure out the chain myself only to satisfy my curiosity. All I wanna do is lighten the load on that circuit so...I've concluded that it will be easier to run romex and put one outlet on dedicated breakers in each of the front bedrooms.

It will be even easier if I didn't have to do it myself. 💸💸💸

For future reference. I get folks at my Home Depot who disconnected all the switches and expect me to tell them how to reconnect them.

Seeing a birds nest like that absolutely irritates the crap out of me. It’s the sign of a lazy installer when the home was built or added on to.

I can still remember a homeowner bitching at an electrician who was trying to wire his wall outlets in series. “The bid specifically said they would be parallel”.

Guy had to redo it. I was smiling because that’s how I’d have my house done if I built one.

Ive still got a phantom ground (or something in my house. I may have helped it along trying to wire two motion detector floods in series. Though the ceiling fan/light switch hasnt flip flopped in a while and the back porch light hasn’t turned itself on so maybe I’m good now.
