A friend dropped his Navy Arms O/U off to me today to take a look at. I'm not a gunsmith, but I don't mind breaking other people's stuff, holding onto it for 18 months and giving it back un-fixed with a large invoice attached.
Anyway. The top barrel won't fire. Light primer strikes. It's hard to tell from these pics, but easy to see in person that the pin is sitting 'low' in the race. There's even a bit of wear on the race from what looks like years of friction.
Question is if I try tearing this thing down all the way, how likely am I to get myself in trouble? I'm hoping a little bit of cleaning inside the action and maybe a fresh spring or a bit of bending stuff around will straighten things out.
