Optic mounting options for non-MOS Glock 19 G5?

At some point, I may want to add red-dot optics to my non-MOS factory Glock 19 G5. What are my ooptions?
- Buy a MOS slide ($$$)
- Send slide to milled out to be MOS ($$)
- Get optic to replace iron sight (dovetail mount) ($)

These seem to be in the most $$$ to least $ order. What are the pros and cons for each?

Will need to apply for another permit, wait 3 weeks, go to Raleigh.... I'll stick with my 3 options for now.

The MOS will give you versatility if you aren’t set on a specific optic, but I would get the slide milled, as it is the most solid way to run an optic.

You can have it milled, jagerwerks does great work. About $125 ish for milling last time I checked.

I'd say get an aftermarket optic cut slide. I have no idea about the availability of Gen 5 aftermarket slides though

They're out there, but costly. New are $400 +/-, eBay used $300 +/- for an empty slide.

Sooner or later the slide makers will catch on and drive the price down.

Is there a CNC spec/program that anyone can download to mill their own Glock 19 G5 slide to fit say an RMR? I just realized that I have a friend who has a milling machine and makes his own uppers for competition shooting so I may ask him if he's willing to do it.

That sounds like a cool idea if there’s such a program available.

Good idea, but I just don't like that look, and yes, i do plan o getting a CHP permit so that will just make the gun bulky.

I have a used oem glock 19x that has been milled for rmr, cerakoted multicam. Has ameriglo gl429 suppressor sights. Includes everything but the barrel and recoil spring! Looking for 425 obo open to trades for a 12.5 or 8.5 5.56 upper. Open to partial trades of 9mm and 556 ammo!

I’ll sell you this one...kidding. ... gen5 19 mos, picked it up last weekend. Added tlr-6, threaded barrel, and holosun 507c-x2. Haven’t put 1 round through it. Plan on hearing it up tomorrow. Check out ncengravers, haven’t seen anything this guy can’t cut.
