I need an otter or two trapped.
Anyone have a 220 Conibear and know how to use it? Easy access.
Not sure what otter pelts bring.
I'd pay for the service.
Near intersection of hwy 119 & hwy86 in hightowers NC. Not far from Hillsborough.

Since the response for a trapper was so overwhelming...

I schooled myself on the basics and went to town. Behold, my first Otter set.
Conibear #280. I'm gonna go ahead and say right now, these traps are a huge pain in the ass, and occasionally hand!
You can just make out the top of the trap.
I put it in the best looking otter highway I could find and used sticks to make a funnel. Now the wait...

The alternative was @Professor Chaos in a wetsuit with a Kbar in his teeth. While that does sound sexy in a Forest Whitaker kind of way....I opted for the trap due to time constraints.

I never knew you needed one. I'm to far away but good on you for trying. Trapping is fun. That 220 can hurt you so be careful.

If your efforts don't pan out and you want to hire a pro removal service, try Mangum's Nuisance Wildlife Control. I think your place is within his range.

I'm setting it with the rope/loop so definitely going old school. Kind of dangerous.
I need to tune the trigger. It's a mess.
Never wax it. Ever. I haven't tuned a conibear trigger. What brand is it?

I have a few dukes. They are ok. Good luck man keep us posted

From what I've seen so far, Dukes are poorly made. The safety is loose, so it flops off when the spring is compressed.
Also, the rings have gaps in them. That let's the rope slip through.
Basically, China made junk.
