Interesting series on supply chain issues. Watching it on Spectrum 136 Sci now.

Sometimes I wonder if this is China trying to starve us. Ok, call me crazy but how is it any different than a Union / Management strike?

Similarities and differences sure. But when your predominant supplier is also your banker the playing field isn't quite level.

Word is that they have partially closed Tianjin, Ningbo and Huahua ports (maintenance they say.... (covid))

That means that Shanghai will have to outbound the traffic not taken by their ports.

Interesting, is that Ningbo closed 1 Terminal in June... and it was an 80 MILE BACKUP to the Shanghai Port. If there is a jam getting product out, there is going to be a jam coming in. Like Sept - It doesn't matter now, as the last ship will sail on Jan 28th. The first ship after that will be Feb 21st.

The whole country shuts down for New Year (and this year is the Tiger), and you got the Olympics. They have told the migrant inlanders not to travel back. No big parties or celebrations.
