Overheard at the gun store

Hey, I overheard ya'll laughin' at Glocks bein' called collectibles, thought I'd join the fun.

When guns are outlawed, Glocks will be recycled into soda bottles!

I ought to get some kind of award for this thread.

(Course I'd probably have to keep it in Chad's Basement.)

Went and looked a 43x for the first time today. I also looked a the 48, the 4" version. After looking at the 48, it makes complete sense to discontiue the 43x. The 48 is the same frame as the 43x with the slightly longer slide a barrel, about 1/2". So, it will carry pretty much the same and renders the 43x redundant. The 43 however is a noticeably thinner frame and smaller gun overall as a 6 round gun.
Kinda diggin' the 48. It's basically a skinny 19. Must resist.

I overheard at a gun store that “just the sound of cocking a shotgun will make a bad guy shit his pants and leave”.
No, no, no. Uncle Biden says two blast in the air. Funny thing is, with Uncle Biden's suggestion, you still need a gun.

Im not a Glock fan.
Period.
End of story.
However....if I was to own one, it would be the 48. I like it over the Shield, 43, XDs, and the wifes PPS.

Like I told said to the guy at the counter. Glocks are the Timex's of the gun world. (For those of us that even understands what that means.) They just work, even when they're broken, they just keep working. I respect that. If I want pretty, I'll go with the 1911's or revolvers. ;)

Sure kinda liked the original model PPS, but only 6 +1 rounds make me nervous. :)

My favorite recent one was a guy, dressed in tight tactical cargo pants, a tactical range belt, a sheepdog tshirt that was rather tight, and an open carried S&W in an uncle mike's type fabric holster. He KNEW his stuff and was there with a lady friend trying to teach her which gun to buy. I laughed as the guy taught the gun clerk for 20 minutes why this caliber is better than that and this barrel was ballistically superior. Finally the girl said she wanted to look at one so the clerk pulled it out. He removed the trigger lock, dropped the mag, inspected the mag visually, inspected the weapon visually and with his finger, he then reinserts the mag. Nothing...ever left the visibility of the 3 people...4 if you count me chuckling in the background. NOW LET'S PAUSE....IM ALL FOR SAFETY AND THE GOLDEN GUN RULES, AND YES I FOLLOW THEM...but the gun was clearly empty, safe and fully cleared. This was a gun shop, not a big box store i might add. The clerk turns the gun so he muzzles himself, and passes it to the woman...grip side first. The tactical ninja with her freaks out...to the point i almost reach for my pistol...dude is YELLING about pointing the gun at the guy. Girl....freaked out....puts the gun down. Guy behind the counter is like...ughhh wtf just happened. Tactical ninja finally stops, takes a deep breath, rubs his face a few times for effect...and directs the woman to pick up the gun again. So she complies...picks it up and in trying to adjust it to fit her hand, gun was too big for her, puts her finger inside the trigger guard...doesnt pull trigger back, just finger inside. The ninja turns bright red and belts out another tyrade of insults and instructions on how bad the girl is waving, flagging, and ENDANGERING EVERYONE in the store with her careless actions. I am about 2 seconds from telling him to calm down or busting out laughing...when the clerk says, "sir the weapon is clear and there is no danger of the weapon going off." I immediately zoomed in for what happens next...the girl, who felt better with the support of the clerk says, "yeah so and so...just let me loook at it, im buying this gun."

The dude makes some comment about people's lives being in danger and he can no longer take part in this and says he will go look at the accessories while she is putting everyone in danger. He was sweating, bright red, breathing heavy, and wiping his hands all over his face like a crazy man. Im sure of two things that day, 1. That man didnt need to be teaching anyone about guns, formally or informally., 2. If that was his GF or wife...she was probably getting a beatin later that day.

And im somewhat convinced that man shouldnt be carrying a gun. I chuckled a few times and slowly walked away as the dude passed by me.

Careful Spekter, that last paragraph can get you labeled a Fudd. Who are we to judge who gets to carry or not.

He doesn't sound stable but im not ok with the same things hes not ok with. Could have handled it better but he's not wrong.

Thanks for putting this info up,I gotta resist but that is futile.

Glock is still making the 37. You guys really believe the 43x will be discontinued?
Go look at a 48 and you'll see a 43X is just a slightly shorter 48. Not enough to affect carry or concealment. Maybe they will reintroduce the 43X as a 48S. That would make sense. Cause it's closer to a 48 than the 43.

I see them daily. Also have a hard time keeping them in stock. Along with the 48.

Again glock still makes the 37. Chambered in 45gap. They are not going to give up on a new product that fast.
