P365 requires new trigger spring installed by Sig every 2,000 rounds

Lol that's pure garbage
If it were another manufacturer then I'd probably dismiss it, but Sig has a history of sucking (see: P365 primer drag and P320 AD issue that they corrected for their military submission before even alerting the public).

I suspect one of the big Guntube channels will probably have a video tonight with a response from Sig.

All springs wear/break at some point. I’m more concerned that it’s not user servicable. If they just sold a spring pack and said to do a deep clean and replace these springs every 2,000 rounds I’d buy a few of them and get on with my life.

Sig has turned into keltec. Great guns but unfortunately made by keltec

Even then 2,000 rounds seems really low. I typically shoot 500-600 rounds per range session and I'd probabaly be changing the springs at 1,500 rounds if it was a gun I was carrying (which, with the P365, is probably the case) and I'd always have that "how close is it to snapping?" thought in the back of my head while carrying it.

Do we even know if this is actually true at this point? All we have so far is a Reddit post. Just a limited search leads me to believe that this might be hocum.
People in the thread are suggesting it might be an ignorant CS that gave out bad info. This is probably the most likely explanation, despite my distaste for Sig handguns.

Maybe the 2,000 rounds relates to the recoil spring?

Agree. I will not be surprised to learn that someone misspoke and that the service interval for these is 20,000 rounds rather than 2,000.

I have this nagging feeling that a spring snapping is a heat treatment issue or maybe a mechanical issue. I expect them to weaken to the point of malfunction, but not to snap.

This for me^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This brings in to focus what we were discussing Yesterday. This^^ is why I Always carry 2. Never for capacity. Always for peace of mind. "Murphy" is alive.
@BatteryOaksBilly
How many rounds thru yours?
I picked up my 3rd new 365 yesterday......as to round count...I couldn't even give a guesstimation...wouldn't even know where to start. My lack of knowledge is only exceeded by my lack of interest. I eliminated any worry of Any gun I carry going tits up by carrying 2 30 years ago.

Someone with an armorer's manual showed up in response:

The trigger bar spring that OP is probably referring to as the reset spring specifically has a scheduled maintenance replacement every 10,000 rounds, not 2,000. Check pages 75-77 of the P365 Armorer's Manual.

Barrel, slide, frame, or sights: replace when you feel like it, possibly never. "Keyholing or excessive wear."

5k rounds - recoil spring UNLESS it's an XL - that's 10k rounds.

Most springs = 10k rounds

Pretty much everything else = 20k rounds.

It's user serviceable. Heck, I replaced my P365 SAS trigger spring with MCARBO's P365 Trigger Spring Kit last year. That trigger spring kit reduced trigger pull weight, improved crispness a bit (P365 triggers are notoriously mushy), took about 45 mins to install following the video on the linked page, and has a lifetime guarantee against performance issues and defects.

I would bet it is this. I had a CS person at sig tell me I have to clean and oil all metal surfaces on my 365xl after every time I carry it and another told me the takedown pin on a 938SAS can fall out because it isn't captured and when I said my 1911 doesn't do that they said well it has to be user error... Sig CS sucks

I have a couple XL's. First one was bought used so not sure of the round count. Trigger return spring broke at 7100 rounds with me at the trigger. Sig seemed surprised it went that far and since gun was over 12 months old they hit me for the $85 service. I shipped it to them and had it back in my possession in 8 days. They replaced all the springs, etc. Since that time, I bought 3 trigger return springs from Osage Co Guns for less than $10. I have them on hand if needed as they are pretty simple to change.

The first problem is taking anything from Reddit without a yuge grain of salt.

The second problem is taking a phone jockey's word on warranty issues.

The third problem is trigger return springs are 3 for $10 and can be easily replaced. They will not void your warranty.

The fourth problem is engineering a very small 9mm means you are going to take compromises compared to full-sized combat pistols.

tl;dr Fake news.

Wait... They only warranty firearms for 1 year?

.....except Kel Tec will typically sell you any part you want, and sometimes gives them away for the users to fix things.
Haha buddy of mine is still mad sig wouldn't give him an extractor for his p320

Sounds like you're saying keltec > sig 😂 heck I'm more likely to buy a keltec than a sig tomorrow too

Truthfully? I DO like Kel Tec over Sig ( as it exists now)...

I DO wish Kel Tec was better at true mass production and releasing things that arent in "Beta" to the public. They are innovative and have seen them bend over backwards for people who own their stuff, even if they arent the orginal owners.

Sig ( as they exist now...) is a pale shadow of itself, that releases a bunch of the same stuff with different trim levels and is just as likely to orphan a design in mere years to sell something else.

Sig does the same thing. It took them a few gens of MPXes and Sig P365s for them to be functional handguns. Got one of the early ones? Too bad.
But is this really true for the p365? They had an issue with firing pin drag, they figured it out, they provided free parts that solved the problem.

Customer service for my 365xl was non existent.

I have 3 keltecs and 0 sigs
If I were to get a sig, it would be an old one. I'm squeamish about the new ones.

I always look at your posts.....I need a little clarification on this one...Have you Ever owned a Sig?? Did you have a bad experience? Knowing you I am certain it would take more than Internet chatter to turn you this against something?
Here we always give thoughts on things we have spent or hard earned money on and thoroughly tested. I have owned every model KelTec handgun they ever made....so I have opinions....paid for opinions. I have owned a bunch of Sigs starting with the BDA in 1978 or so that morphed into the 220 and today I have 226s, 238s, 938s and 365s.
Hep an Old Man out....what experiences with newer Sigs have you had???

absolutely none. i'll be honest about that. the feel great in my hands at the store. they seem like they should be good, but i can't get past the reputation they have for their recent trend for releasing guns that rapidly require voluntary upgrades... that's why i said i'm squeamish, but not that i'm against them.
I shot a couple of the older metal ones and those were great.

but i'm well aware of keltecs reputation too... i just haven't had problems with mine. I recommend them to folks, but also warn them about the reputation and suggest they absolutely do a "break-in" like they should with any gun they'll be trusting to keep them safe.
