I was talking about the people, not the politicos. And I thought the capital was Harrisburg.

And this has just closed EGW, Evolution Gun Works, till further notice..

Geographically then you heard right. Most of the State is good. But that huge populations of Pittsburgh and especially Philly dominate. We need an electoral college system for states like we do federally so one area cannot just dominate a state. Like we’ll see any day now with Raleigh and Charlotte.

ditto on that affirmation. PA gets a bad rap cause of philly. Being from outside Pittsburgh I am a little more biased towards them and feel there’s a better mix but alas, the dems still and always will control the city. But freedom flows through the veins of the ppl north, south and in between those cities.

I visit Chambersburg, PA every Christmas to visit with in-laws. I've met nothing but Fudds up there that claim to be "pro-gun" in my conversations with them. They balk and turn up their nose when I show them some of the firearms I own or shooting events I attend.

The others that I've met up there have been vehemently anti-gun. I make sure to wear my pro-firearm related clothing out everywhere I go up there to make their heads explode. Makes for fun times at family events (read HELL) during the holidays.

    Tell ya what happened...

The governor did not have a epiphany or a miraculous turning of his heart overnight.

What happened was a backlash...a bunch of citizens who decided to make some waves, rock the boat and raise some hell.

    Good.

Pittsburgh at one time had some great gun shops within the city limits. One shop down town even sold DEWATS. Outside in the suburbs and nearby small towns there were many small gun clubs and hole in the wall shops. I spent many a paycheck at those shops before I left for the Army! Flaigs in Milvale was quite the shop for custom gun work back in the day.

Gun shops still selling as far as I know. Restaurants now cannot allow patrons inside building....all prepared food has to be run to the curb. Roads are fairly empty as I ride around checking shelves in stores but people are still taking care of some business.

Washington just south of Pittsburgh has one of the best local gun shops around - Ace sporting goods - still one of my favorites to go to. Plenty of good gun clubs, not to mention the free gun ranges on the game lands. Always money well spent!

I bought a Remington 03A3 there when I returned from Germany and on my way to APG in 1981. I kept that rifle for about 30 years before I sold it. Great place. My first shooting expedition was with my father at the game lands in Wexford. I took my nieces there several years ago, the range had improved considerably since 1971! When I went there with my dad and then my buddies I79 wasn't there.

Oh yeah. Lots has changed since that time! Ha. I really like the range up there in Wexford vs the game land range down in claysville. It’s been about 5 years since I have been to the Wexford one shooting with my brother. They supposedly charge a fee now to use the game land ranges but there’s never a wildlife officer or game warden checking. Having either an in state or out of state hunting license voids the requirement to pay to use the range.
