Passer-by Shoots to Defend NC LEOs

The number of considerations you would have to line up to make this worthwhile in today's legal system (real cops? correct address/correct suspect? other bad guys not visible? suspect using deadly force? cops getting seriously hurt? what's beyond target? cops return fire? etc., etc.) unfortunately make this an almost impossible task.
 
I’d damn near need the cops to sign something before I’d intervene. Might call 911 and say, bad guys is beating the crap out of a couple cops, if it looks like he’s gonna kill one do you want me to shoot him or just watch?
 
Not my pony not my pasture….. if I don’t now the if’s what’s and why’s then I’m either make things worse or horribly wrong.

Tough decisions for sure…
 
Officers, do I have your consent to intervene?
Officers, do I have permission to draw my sidearm?
Officers, do I have your complete consent, without reservation, to fire upon your attacker?
No, I need to hear it from both of you...
 
Assuming the officer wasnt the initial aggressor is sadly not the safest of bets. :/
 
If I saw cops being assaulted and overwhelmed and their lives threatened by someone I would intervene without hesitation.

I trust my own judgement and momma taught me to do the right thing despite whatever consequences I may suffer.

If I see TWO cops getting pummeled by ONE guy bare fisted, imma cap his ass. Regardless of guilt or innocence, there’s NEVER a good reason to fight a cop. The fight is in the courtroom, not the street….

TWO cops (or anyone else for that matter) getting whooped by ONE guy? Nope goat say nope!!
