I want to purchase a pelican case for my savage model 10 and my Remington sendero. The problem is finding someone who can cut the foam to get a great fit. I don’t want to attempt this and mess it up. Is there anywhere in central NC that can do this?

It’s honestly not that hard,
And replacement foam is easy to acquire.
The best way to do it yourself is to arrange everything, make sure it fits, trace it with a fine permanent marker, and the use a hot knife to slowly cut the foam.
However
This is slow, and labor intensive.

Carolina Custom Foam uses Appalachian Tough Gun Case Foam, and will let you send them pictures of your gear laid out on the foam,
They then use a hydro jet to cut the foam perfectly, and ship it to you.
They do a good job too

Agree with @Spartan01 that's the place to go, total pro 2A company too. I have a Pelican 1750 I need to take to him. But yeah you'll hafta ship.
I took a plano 42" case to a local mom & pop sewing/fabric shop and had the guy cut foam to fit it. I like to use the egg crate foam top and bottom so I can squeeze any gun/guns in there that I want to. He charged me $18.
Custom cut is nicer though for that special and/or pricey gun that deserves it's own case.

Yes.... not to hard. An alternative method, masking tape and a really sharp knife. A utility/box cutter type knife will work just fine. Just take your time and saw the foam, don't just insert the blade and rip. Even if you cut it slightly to big, when you close the case, it will be secure, as in the rifle won't be flopping around inside the case.

I can do it for you, I have done all of my own, they come out looking really good.
My secret is to use a higher end snap off blade, and switch the entire blade out often, and go slow and take your time.

I've done it before with an $8 used electric carving knife from eBay. Much easier than a box cutter but, as stated above, take your time. Trace the foam with a sharpie and cut on the inside of the line to get a snug fit.

@Daniel Honeycutt - Another much less expensive option to consider. And with a coupon you can usually get 20% or more off listed price.

I have one of their rifle cases and it’s a very tough case, with wheels and comes with plenty of thick pick foam. I bought a couple of their pistol cases for my other firearms as well. I would buy again. Much much cheaper than a Pelican, and for my uses will last a long time.

I use this HF rifle case mostly for weapon range transport, also hunting and long range “varmit” rifles.

This is one of the cases I use for my Sub 2Ks. I can carry (2) Subs and plenty of mags in one case.

Decent reviews.

I like the Plano cases, they are really really sturdy, take a lot of abuse, and not too much money.
Pick and pluck foam is nice, no cutting needed, but, then again, it wont be PERFECT because of the 90* corners of each piece
But it's dang good
