Plate Carrier Set Up

I see all these plate carriers and I think, these aren't any protection at all, unless you get hit in the plate, you got a hole in you. I have a full vest with side coverage and pockets for plates. Why would you want just that little bit of coverage area??
Makes you wonder how many skilled shooters out to keep them on the plate…. as my hero Clint would say “when I pull my pistol out I start shooting the crotch and work my way up…hell’ve of a way to say hey my name is Clint and it gets worse for you here on out “.

I've worked alot of Gunshot calls, I've had more people get dead with shots to the Thighs/pelvis than anywhere else. There is lots of vascular stuff in that area. That's where I would aim. Plus if they don't bleed out, you start chunking away at that femurs and pelvis bones it hurts like hell and they are going to fall down.

More people die from gsw to the chest and noggin than anywhere else, but a shot to the pelvic girdle or junction can do the job. The problem is they still have blood going to the noggin, even if for a little bit, so they can shoot back.

I aim for the chest: likelihood of booger eaters have body armor is about nill, it's a high probability shot placement, and high percentage of terminal damage.

I'd aim for the head but that's a low probability hit, a small target, and I'm afraid my adrenaline would make me screw it up, hitting a bystander.

But the pelvic girdle and junction has a lot of vasculature. I ask in class "how much blood can be dumped into the pelvis?". The right answer, "almost all of it."
