Played hooky with the kid yesterday...

and it was a good day. The pics are from some of the easier pitches he did. I set the camera down and just hung out watching, belaying and cheerleading after that.

Our guide, Cody, is in the yellow helmet. We've been out with Cody several times and he just "gets" Ian. They really click. So, that let Cody push him harder and higher than Ian's ever gone. Was a great time!

I only climbed a single pitch, a relatively easy 5.8 that got me to a belay area for Cody and Ian to continue on to a 2nd pitch.

South face of Looking Glass. A rarity in that there was only one other group at the crag. We didn’t have a full day, so opted for close.

I think the pic of my kid and the guide setting anchors is on Sentry box. I always get Sentry and Stage ledges confused. The pic is from the one on 'the left'.

At some point you need to get that boy up to the New River Gorge. Sooooooooooo many routes up there.

I was in that neck of the woods pedaling last evening.

The pics were definitely from the easiest pitches he climbed that day. I stayed on the ground for the most part and he quickly got out of range of the phone/camera.
