Foxtail, used to get it in some of my hay fields
Odd it's only in one, car sized area
Did you spray herbicide on it to get rid of it? If so...…….what type?
It’s either cereal rye or of a rye type grass. Foxtails are similar but are more fluffyIn one area of my yard I have a lot of this growing up, and growing up quickly
Here is two pieces of it, any idea what it is?
Horses and cows will eat it but it’s absolutely terrible for their mouths. It causes ulcers both in their mouth and stomachsNo, cows and horses didn’t seem to mind it, being in the grass family itself there’s limited selective herbicides for it and most were past the economic threshold to clean up a non toxic weed in hay.

those from grain rye or wheat?
You're right - I was looking at it on my phone. I pulled it up on a bigger screen and it appears to be foxtailI’d have a hard time believing it to be rye with such a small seed head
