The wife and I were an oddity back in CA for not having kids, but here it seems we're running into more couples who don't have kids and/or don't plan on having kids.

So unscientific poll here in the CFF community, do you have kids / are you going to have kids or are you not having kids?

This is human kids here, not the goat kind.

I have one, Chicken Lady has four. Thank goodness they are all 40+. Have two grandkids, never see one of them.

Honestly, I wouldn't even think about having younguns this day in time.

3, was told we would be lucky to have one... dr was wrong, the youngest one is 100% my clone.

The wife and I never had any or wanted any.
Someone.once asked me who's gonna take care of you when you get old.
I told them, I'll use the money I saved by not having any and pay someone

I'll be 47 Sunday.

Hell no......
My wife's birthday is 3, mil 5th and Daughter 8th. Rough week. My best friend had his last at 41. He occasionally sends me messages saying stuff like WTH I'm never gonna be able to pay for college with my 401k. He is a nurse and is just like what was I thinking.

We tried. Wife had some lady problems. We spent a lot of money on IVF and after a few attempts where something started and was lost days later we threw in the towel.
We considered adoption for a hot minute. Fact was that neither my wife nor I are right for adoption. We both feel like we'd be great guardians, but we'd never be parents. If the kid had problems with health or behavior issues we'd harbor regrets. Maybe people grow past those feelings when they actually have a kid, but it didn't feel right enough for us to pursue and throw more money at. Figured the poor kids deserve better than to have parents who don't have their hearts in it.

One stepson. Inherited him, so-to-say, when he was just 3 years old. Now he's 24 and a 1LT(19A) in the US Army. Huh, speaking of which, wedding anniversary is coming up in two days. Do I still have time to buy the wife a gun? Maybe another "cowboy" revolver ... I can store it for her on my left hip.

I have had a lot of friends over the years, and there are many, years that is, that never had kids.

Jesus didn’t have any, and neither did that guy who wrote the better part of the entire New Testament, as far as we know anyway.

Kids ain’t for everybody. Mine have given me a run for the money. Mostly money, and not so much running. Too tired and too slow.

2 daughters and 4 G-kids, 2 boys and 2 girls.

Wife and I tried but didn’t work out. Would really like to adopt but that seems like a dumpster fire these days.

And it looks like it’s starting all over again for you, old man.

We get that too. Told that we're selfish. Yet somehow creating some people and then burdening them with your care is somehow just fine. Usually ends that 'argument'.
