If anyone uses these, like I do, the original military pour spouts are expensive. A while back I bought one on amazon, that a guy was making out of PVC, for $26 (link: https://www.amazon.com/Scepter-Mili...&sprefix=military+gas+can+&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1 )
It works but it’s only a 1/2 inch hose so slow to pour with. Once I had his I saw how easy they are to make. So here’s how to make one for under $10 (assuming you have pvc glue and Teflon tape on hand and can find the hose sold by the foot).
Here’s what you’ll need. A 2 inch slip to thread adaptor.
A 2 inch to 3/4 Spigot to thread bushing
A 1 inch to 3/4 inch hose reducer coupling (I couldn’t find a 1 inch to 1 inch.)
Edit: Ok I just realized I took a picture of the box next to the one you need. That's a hose to hose adapter and what you need is threaded to hose. Roughly the same price though.
1 foot of 3/4 inch reinforced vinyl tubing. The Lowe’s I went to only had it in a 10 ft roll. I was planning to make a couple of them so no big deal.
Teflon tape will work but I had some gasoila thread sealant at the shop which is better for this application.
Glue the PVC together and then thread in the hose adaptor.
Squirt some wd40 into the hose and slide it on and voila.
This is the new one I made next to the one I got off of amazon. The 3/4 inch hose should pour a lot faster.
