I tried to make a Holosun magnifier work for my new poodle shooter. My astigmatism is far worse than I remembered it being. I tried a few different dots with it and none worked well enough as I see a slash, question mark, or muddy star burst depending on which red dot I try.
So I bought my first prism. 2x seems to allow both close in and 300 yard shots to be reliably hit. The brightness is plenty bright. And the aiming point is sharp so I can actually see. The diopter is a great feature since I can shoot with or without my glasses.
I'm also saving weight. The GLx is 11 ounces. The Holosun magnifier is 10 oz and the dots all run about 5 oz. I also pulled off my Troy BUIS. That's another 3 oz I don't need since the prism doesn't need batteries to be effective under daylight or white light.
Eye box is huge. Eye relief is generous. Field of view is outstanding.
My only complaint is the price. Mine was 12%off on sale a week ago, but still like $345. Now I want this thing on a few other rifles so I can dump the dots.
