I had the primer pocket eject from the Dillon 550 today while loading a few hundred 9mm of many and various headstamps. This one is a Blazer Brass. I have no idea of its history, since I generate too many empties and buy Midway once-fired assorted brass to keep records.
Yes, I be a lazy oaf.
Had I primed this case with my handheld, I think it would have looked just fine, since it doesn't have much mechanical advantage versus the Dillon. This happened at the top of the stroke during resizing/capping. The primer and its shell of the pocket dropped off the shellplate on the way to get powder.
First time for me to find one of these in over 150,000 rounds of 9mm. Anyone else ever experience this on a brass case?

Never seen that before.

Interesting, in over 50+ years that's a new one on me, guess I won't be using any "Blazer"
headstamped 9mm. trash can time. I've seen larger / smaller and off centered holes.

First for me! I have my fair share of CCI Blazer brass, and has been good to go. Who knows how many times it's been loaded or who loaded it?

I've never seen that happen, and I've reused a lot of random Blazer.

You found the 6-sigma outlier it looks like. Glad it was before it let go in a firearm .

How hot of a load are you running in those cases?

125gr HAP JHP with 7.2gr BlueDot, basically a starting load. I shoot a lot of Blazer or CCI Independence, since it is relatively cheap. The brass has always performed well.
This could be somebody else’s brass, who loaded hot, but the case looks normal.
I haven’t seen brass being formed into cases, but I assume that it is drawn into its final form, after being punched from a sheet. The way the pocket just popped off makes me want to locate a video showing the manufacturing of the cases.

In Biden's creepy whisper, You don't have to seat them that deep.

Never seen it, but I am curious about the indention on the primer. I'd reach out to CCI as well.

I get dents on my primers with my 550 if there is any trash on the primer ram. A few bits of powder is enough to cause dents. I try to clean off the ram whenever I see dents.

Normal occurrence on 550s. I keep a small portrai painters brush handy to occasionally raise the primer ram up and brush off small bits of shaved brass, lead and crap that falls out of the primer pockets and lays on the shell plate. Since the primer ram is recessed, it acts like a low spot and collects debris.
The brush is more for cleaning junk caught below the shell plate that impedes the primer slide, usually spent primers and their debris.
Both of my 550s have the same problems. Dillon never fixed the minor issue from the 1st generation to the current generation.
SNAFU🥳

I got some Blazer empties out of the 9mm bucket and beat the tar out of the pockets with a punch and hammer. Nothing separated. It would be interesting to know what caused your separation.
