I did my prints last week and I have the .eft file. I got a note from ATF saying they got my .eft files.

When I did my amnesty form 1 this morning I did *not* attach them as I assumed they already had them, so I'd not need to reattach.

Was that a mistake?

Yes. Prints have to be submitted with every submission, just like with paper forms.

@BigWaylon...

Could he go back through eforms website, view the form PDF, go to the electronic documents block and attach it?

It allowed me to do that with a photo I forgot to attach...didn't know if it would allow the same for the EFT file.

Don’t know. Haven’t done the .eft thing yet, so I’m not exactly sure when it happens in the process. You can also add normal documents after the fact, so maybe so?

Don't know if this will work or not...

Sign into eforms. Under "My forms", click on "Submitted/In Process"...once the "blue clock" stops spinning, click on "5320.1" right below "Submitted/In Process".

When it brings up the form(s) you submitted, click on the "eyeball" logo on the right hand side of the screen.

Once the next screen comes up, click on the "Electronic Documents" box at the top of the page.

Scroll down, click on "Browse", attach your EFT file, select "Other" as the document type , in "Description", put in "EFT fingerprint file", then click "Add document".

If it was successful, you should see the EFT file listed in the table with any other edocs (photos, Form 1 cover letter, etc).

Lemme know if that works.

I didn't even ask them to be sent to ATF. I just got some robo email from them as a result of the printscan process.

I'll go try what you suggested, Dale and report back

So you didn’t ever upload them to eForms? If so, I can’t imagine there’s any way they get linked to your submission. You would’ve had to upload them during the submission process.

the .eft file cannot be uploaded (it's not an acceptable file type), though your suggestion would have worked, Dale...thank you.
It looks like the .eft goes directly to ATF ? (EDIT: This is the restriction list only for certain docs, but NOT the .eft )

I did not do eprints, I opted for paper. I got a confirmation email with two attachments: my filled-out form 1 and a cover letter with instructions on how to submit fingerprint cards.
If you get that, well then you know.

Looks like it's supposed to be under the "responsible person" train stop.... and it won't let me edit. Maybe I'll see if I can cancel and resubmit

That worked, and the new submission is in the queue. Saving the template makes that easier.

This is for a Ruger Charger. In the pull down for model there

Charger
22 Charger
22Charger
Charger takedown
Charger 22 takedown
Charger takedown 22

etc etc.... more insanely amateur hour database management guaranteed to make the database difficult to search in the future. Good job!

Edit: Made it to SUBMITTED/IN PROCESS in 7 min. We'll see if the below flys

Sorry...thought that may do the trick.

If you just submitted today, it may be worth withdrawing your form and resubmitting...really haven't lost anything.

I did exactly that. I am pretty sure that your suggestion would have worked if I had acted more quickly.

The first one sat in DRAFT mode for a good while before being moved to "submitted". I bet in "draft" it would have been possible to do exactly what you suggested.

Thanks for the suggestion!

In case you didn’t know…

The dropdown menus are not populated/managed by the ATF. They’re just things that other users have used…including things that resulted in Disapproved forms.

Yes, since there's no "pick list" supplied , they're open to free form data input....which is represented in the mess they now have to search through.

I've done this work, and while it's a royal PITA to manage valid values in a DB, *not* doing so renders it much much less useful as a search tool.
