Problems with tool bar...and solution

The tool bar grayed out on me and wouldn't work. Picture below.

If I wanted to highlight and bold something...nope. Use the emoji drop down...nope. Post a video...nope.

I tried restarting my phone...didn't fix it. Closed and reopened CFF...didn't fix it.

Finally I tried logging out and back in. Everything's working normally now!

If you have a similar issue, try that.

I’ve had that happen before. Just figured it out maybe. Click the ellipse between the circular arrow and the page with the magnifying glass on the right. Then click the [ ] looking icon. It grays out the tool bar or restores it.

One potential source of that result, and I have no idea how it happens. It may look different on a desktop, but here’s the fix on a mobile device.

ETA: maybe @noway2’s post he made while I was typing describes what it looks like on a big screen?

If yours looks like this:



Click the three dots on the right, and when that toolbar pops up see if the brackets are highlighted. If so, click them;



…and all your options come back:

Unable to Text Menu from Phone

In the last few weeks, I've noticed I'm not able to use any menu features from my phone. I can enter and delete text, but all the menu items are grayed out. Can't bold or italicize or inset pics. Also noticed extra text showing up during typing. Using Android. Fine on the laptop. Any ideas?

Replies and quotes look different

Anyone else’s showing BB codes? When I quoted someone, it used to show the poster and quote in the gray box, now it’s showing the code only. Same when I attach images and stuff. This is on an iPad.

And for some reason I’m thinking it’s the single thing I’ve shown @amnesia about the site. 🤣 (but maybe I’m thinking of something else weird that occasionally happens on here)
