Foreign sales may keep the production line limping along for several years after the last U.S. planned buy.

I had no idea what foreign sales looked like. Googling it seems we have been trying to entice other countries to buy, and some are but in very small numbers. I wonder if they will continue to have a small shop to service those contracts or say "screw you," we're done."

Fleet support has got to be valuable. They will be selling support for years I imagine.

I suspect so. I am very curious what the new medium lift AC will be.

thing is a dumpster fire anyway

But the branches, they love them. The air force guys rave about them. I never flew enough on them to get a feeling one way or the other, but in spite of having similar internal dimensions as the -46, it just felt smaller, more claustrophobic.

we AF guys love our A10 and AC130

I love those too. But if they tried to land like an Osprey, bad things would happen lol.

Speaking of AC-130, have you seen the newest one?

last one i saw was the one i was dropping off ammo to in afg in 2005, its been a few years...

The newest one, the AC-130J.

Apparently it's much better than its predecessor but I don't know enough about the differences. I DO know when we needed CAS or overwatch at night they were always there.

the J model is much quieter (props are different) and it looks like they dumped the 25/40mm and went to the 30mm/105mm config. im sure all avionics/targeting have been upgraded
