Just purchased a Tisas 1911A1 Service Special .45 ACP. I’ve noticed many different pronunciations of the brand “Tisas”. Most people pronounce it “TEE-SASS”. Though, I found a video from the manufacturer that uses a different pronunciation. If you watch the “Tisas Promotional Film” (see below) the narrator pronounces Tisas as “Tee-SOSH”. You can hear the Tisas pronunciation in five different areas of the video (1:05, 1:20, 1:42, 5:54, 7:02). You can turn on Closed Captioning for an interesting take on the spelling of the Name 😊

Kind of like how Canik is actually pronounced "Janik" in Turkish.

I just call Ottoman ordinance "bok önemsiz"

KYGUNCO calls it "SDS IMPORTS" but it says TISAS on the other side. Great bargain. Maybe the bargain of 2022.

My Tisas service model ejected inconsistently including to my face. The extractor was fit very loosely and clocked. I replaced the firing pin stop with an oversized EGW firing pin stop and since it’s been 100% with past 700 rounds of my 230 grain handloads. The POI is very high but I otherwise cannot complain for the price it was a good purchase.

Recently traded for a tisas duty 45. Didnt want to feed hollowpoints. Polished feed ramp and adjusted the extractor (too tight). Now feeds everything. Great trade, just needs more break in.

Did you adjust the extractor and polish the feed ramp at the same time?

I'd be curious to see if the extractor tension alone may have been the culprit.

Polishing the feed ramp always gets an eye roll from the old timers...
I sent a 1911 back to Springfield, even they included “Polish feed ramp” (among other things) on the invoice (no charge) for warranty service work.

I think it is so very engraved into the American firearms market that "Polished feed ramp" equals "better" that it has become expected for it to either be a fix, or a standard feature for things to be "right".

For better, or for worse.

No i polished the feed ramp, then fired a few shots. It seemed to feed much better but still felt sluggish going into battery. Adjusted the extractor and man what a difference.
