Update...few crappy pics added!

Ordered the PSA AR-V build kit a few weeks ago. It comes with the upper, lower and bolt, along with 1 PSA Scorpion type mag (same mag used in the AK-V). Added a STNGR handguard, Ballistic Advantage 8” barrel and a Tailhook Mod1C brace. Waiting on a 3 lug muzzle device to finish it out. I put in a standard milspec trigger.

Got rained on at the range so I only got about 40 test shots through it today. No optics/BUIS yet, but I’ll probably go with a red dot. About half suppressed with a temp Griffin muzzle break. Ran with no issues suppressed and unsuppressed.

I’ll post a few pics soon.

So far, I like it a lot!!

Have any other AR9 straight blow backs to compare it to? Also, this thread is worthless without pics.

Pics added...sorry about the low light and quality! I don’t make a livin takin pics!

Still no optic/buis or 3 lug, but the first one shows it with the direct thread full size Rugged Obsidian setup. Not yet sold on the handguard (because of looks only, it is good quality otherwise, not a PSA handguard)...I wish it was about 1 to 1.5 inches longer (insert joke here...also I said “insert”, double joke opportunity 🤣).

To your question...I have a Quarter Circle 10 AR9 (Glock mags), but it’s a full 16” rifle so it’s a bit hard to compare apples to apples. I’ve got other PCCs to compare to and so far, this one is right up there with the AK-V, Stribog, PTR 9-CT and Sub2K.

I really like the look with the PSA Scorpion mags and these mags have been 100% so far with the AK-V and the little shot through the AR-V.

Sweet looking pcc!!! I have the ak-v and love it, but it’s built like a tank and heavy like one too!!!! How light is the ar-v?

do these use the same mags as the ak-v and scorpion?

ooops. read op and exhausted huge amount of energy doing an interwebz search.

cool

Wonder why they’re so heavy. I had a AK pistol years back and it def. weighed more than my 20” AR with a 1-6 lol
AK has the piston, larger gas block, gas tube, recoil spring and bolt that add weight vs. the similar parts of an AR. Plus a solid wooden stock/handguard on many AKs vs the usually polymer/aluminum AR counterparts.

My AR-V (as shown above, without 3 lug muzzle and no red dot) is 5.2 lb.

My AK-V is 7.4 lbs (with PA red dot, SLR handguard/gas tube rail - I think I have a pic in the AK-V thread)

Figure once I add muzzle and red dot to the AR-V, it will be around 1.75 lbs lighter than the AK-V

would be nice if they would sell just the lower and upper. Only way into this game is $1000 and for that kinda money.....

EDIT: I found the kit and it's $500 for the upper lower bolt and mag.

Yeah, mine is the build kit. Upper, lower and bolt are proprietary due to using the scorpion mags. Already had all the other parts, except the barrel, so I don’t want a complete gun either.
