Pull Behind Mower

Has anyone used one of the pull behind mowers by Swisher or DR? The powered ones like a giant lawnmower, not the PTO bush hogs.

Backstory, I wanted to tractor but my wife wanted a SxS. I did not win. But I need a big rough cut mower if I’m going to keep my small shooting range clear. While kicking around the Interwebs I realize they made pull behind trail mowers for ATVs and SxS, figured it might just get the job done so I thought I’d ask the CFF family.

I had a swisher I used for a long time. Pulled behind a 4 wheeler. It had a 17hp engine. Once I put a 26hp kawasaki on it, it was a beast.

I made one. Worked petty good. My mower hated pulling it. Gave it away. I hear the new owner isn't using it. Maybe he'll chine in. @eddie0225

I have a Swisher that needs a new carb. Works very well behind my Arctic Cat SxS. I like it, but I have a 52" Hustler zero turn, so I don't need it. I'm going to replace the carb and put it up for sale next spring... unless someone talks me out of it sooner!

he might and it worked good till I got my tractor, I heard you @Les White were wanting to possibly get it back (not saying who said that) if possible) but if you didn't want it back I'm sure it would work perfectly for what he's wanting. I had a Swisher brush mower. 44" deck, Briggs engine...I think it was 11.5hp. Pull start. It was an outstanding machine. I pulled it behind an old Power King and anything I could drive the tractor over, the machine would cut, no problem. So I have no experience with Swisher finish mowers, but based on my experience with the bush hog, I would think Swisher was good to go. DR has a great reputation, too, but costs a whole lot more.
