I'm on Duke Energy TimeOfUse rate. I have a Dencor energy controller - monitors the load and sheds high use devices (heat strips, water heater, dryer) when a preset limit is reached. It's getting old, close to 30 years, so I'm concerned about the Dencor unit failing.
I know I can put a timer on the water heater. Is there an equivalent timer I can use for the heat strips? The heat strips are shed now during on-peak hours by the controller and it is not a problem.
