Everybody always loads their knife as a fighting weapon, accessible for quick draw with a downward or sideways pull. However, if it's a bushcraft tool, like the Mora, then you need to be able to put it down without putting it on the ground. That means it goes right side up, preferably in the middle of your chest. A neck lanyard holding the sheath upright allows you to drop the knife into the sheath when you need both hands, and get it back quickly. Never put yer knife on the ground.
Another thought... your knife and your IFAK should be on your person, not on your backpack. If you shed your backpack for whatever reason, you want to retain your knife, IFAK and three ways of making fire.
