Anyone know where I can get a couple more of these quick release nuts, 1/4-20, for my tumbler lid? I originally bought them off ebay about 15 years ago and the seller is no longer on ebay. The thread title is what the guy called them originally. They are steel, knurled, and have an angled hole drilled through the threads so it slips down over the tumbler threaded rod and then tightens up with a single turn when it meets resistance.
My wife was looking for something earlier and knocked my off tumbler lid and nut where I had it sitting and "lost" the nut. She finally found it, but I would like to have a couple spares just in case.
I've found the push button style speed nuts, but around dry tumbler media, I'm afraid it would get inside and jam up the push button parts.
I found some brass speed nuts at a woodworking supply store, but the shipping is cost prohibitive.
"These nuts are quick adjusting because they are cross drilled (at first glance the hole appears to be off center). This unique design allows you to move them along a threaded rod without turning them; their threads do not engage until they meet a clamping corner or an obstruction. Then you tighten them. The threads disengage when you loosen the nuts, allowing the same free-sliding adjustment along the rods."
