Someone mentioned it and I looked it up, there is a C&E gun show in Raleigh this weekend (6/30-7/1).

It's not the "good" one, but I suspect they'll have a selection of powders and whatnot which is what I'm looking for at the moment so I'm going to make my way over there if I can.

I generally hit all the gun shows in Raleigh. The C&E is the smaller show, and has been in the smaller Expo hall for the last few shows. It is easier to walk the whole floor at the smaller show, but obviously there is less to look at.

There will be some reloading vendors there, Cover Six will be there and they generally have good stock and decent prices. Unfortunately, Blue Collar Reloading won't be there (they only come to the Dixie shows now). I will probably end up buying some powder and primers from Cover Six, and will check out some of the other vendors as well. I usually try to go on Saturday mornings, about 30 minutes after they open.

We will be there. I THINK I will be muling some guns from Backwoods Bang Shop to this show, so get your orders from them in now if you want me to transfer for you at the show.

As has been stated, this is the smaller of the Raleigh shows, but I’ve enjoyed the last several. There have been a little different mix of vendors at them compared to some of the Dixie shows. Always nice to see some different stuff.

Will there be Gerbil Jerky? If not, I won't bother.

Going to try to stop by around 2PM after I get off work.

I'm hoping to go. For whatever reason, both Mace's and the Academy in Burlington are out of IMR 3031 powder, so I'm hoping at least someone there will be selling some. I'd also love to pick up an additional mag pouch, and if I can get a good deal on one, a Vortex Venom RDS. Otherwise I'm just going because, with my new job coming up, I won't have weekends free anymore to go to upcoming gun shows for a while.

Cover Six is showing 3031 in 1lb bottles to be in stock (8lb are OOS). You might be able to email them or call them to see if they are going to have any at the show (they actually have two shows this weekend, so will be splitting the stock between the two).

I'm hoping for more than just one reloading vendor. I'm about to do a midway order but would rather buy from a local business. @Jayne, I'm thinking of going Sunday...

Couple other guys are suggesting that as well. And since I have a few unfinished projects to knock out today, that might make more sense.

We'll be there at 1pm. I am not buying a Ruger like yours. Just to be clear, I am NOT buying a Ruger. No.

It was a decent show- they had everything- jewelry to jerky, and gun show stuff too. Since it was in the expo building, it felt 'full' because it was wall to wall. Not too crowded, got through in under an hour. Good prices on Sub2ks ($399). More vendors than I thought selling powder and primers. I wasn't able to get freedom seeds, but I got WSP bang buttons for $28.99 a sleeve and some varget and cfe black for good prices.

I agonized over a purchase for 45 minutes because it seemed like too good of a deal. Not used to seeing deals at gun shows outside of the select few vendors that always have them, but I was happy to borrow money from the gang I was with so I could buy things. :)

Was it a Ruger :D

Oddly no. They had a few there, but prices were not as good as the local shop. But I wasn't going to get one anyway and I stuck to that.

Didn't happen to be a S&W Model 59 in the box, did it?

I saw the Sub 2Ks for $399, and even saw one for $375. Almost pulled out my wallet, but resisted. My discretionary funds are still reeling from the last acquisition. :(

I did go there to pick up some reloading supplies, and was successful. I picked up 2 lbs of 8208xbr, a box of CCI#34 primers, and thought I would try a box of the Tula small pistol primers as well. I also picked up a few odds and ends, and 3 bags of the requisite gun-show beef jerky. :) "What is the hottest jerky you've got?" "That would be the Carolina Reaper." "I'll take it". :D

I also picked up 1000 rounds of 22LR. It was good to see 22LR in stock and under $0.05 a round. I also picked up a box of the Aguila buck-shot mini-shells. Several vendors had those, the cheapest I found was $19.

Just curious. A guy agonized over a S&W 59 for a long time at our table and has to borrow money from his buddy to buy it. :)
That's why you don't go alone to gun shows.:)

Good thing I didn't go to the show. I'd have been panhandling out in the parking lot for a 59. o_O

Hmm., how long did that resolution last?

The duration of that gun show. See, no rules were violated, I got the Ruger WAY after that show. Like eons later.

Also, apparently my friends were miffed because I didn't say I was looking for what I bought. If they don't know what I'm searching for they can't pressure me into buying crap. So to make it clear, I'm TOTALLY not looking for a Ruger Alaskan in 454. Not at all. Nope.

That made me laugh!

You should not be looking for a S&W 460, either, since they can shoot 454 and 460.

And I am totally not looking for a S&W 500.
