I’ve told quite a few people about the forum over the years. Rarely see them join though. Thought it would be nice to have CFF “business” cards to hand out to like minded people. Save them the trouble of remembering a random website somebody mentioned in passing. Maybe a small quantity that could be sent out each time a membership is renewed?

Doable or dumb….what say ye.

Once they have that pic, they have the information they need. They won’t lose or toss the pic as easily as a card.

I tell people about the forum anytime the opportunity presents itself,and think an informational card is a good idea IMHO. I don’t think incentivizing passive recruitment is a horrible idea either. With that said I know nothing about the work it takes to do such things for a site like this. I have the feeling such things are much easier said than done.

I think a few may join, but they're not active. Kinda like me when I join some other forum.

I've invited a few to join, but to date, I can only remember one that joined (finally). And now I'm wondering if that was such a good thing.

What if there was a QR code on this page somewhere. Or a menu option to get to it easily. That might work instead of having them type it in?

I forward the link through text. If they can't figure that out, we probably don't want them on here anyway.

I run into quite a few people who i end up taking about guns with and i always mention the forum. Very few ever join up though.
 
Relative to incentives for getting folks to join I'd suggest profile banners that say Evangelist. No cost involved, but credit is given where due.

I’m relatively tech savvy, but I like the card idea better than the QR code. I’d personally be suspicious of any random dude I just met asking me to scan something with my phone.

of course I’m also the guy who just ordered a shirt with a QR code on the front that takes you to YouTube playing a rickroll video

No joke, I got mild heatstroke the first forum event with you lot (well the lot two iterations of the forum ago) because I hadn't spent a whole day outside cooking my brain here before. No hat, not enough water and I got the staggers before I knew what was going on.
