I replaced the recoil springs in my Colt 1991 and Colt 1911A1 as well as my SW 3913 TSW today. All three were functioning fine but I figured it was time. I was surprised how much shorter all three original springs were compared to the new springs.

Do you suppose it’s time for my 1926 Colt 1903? Where would one look for such a thing?
All coil springs take an initial set and this is factored in.
The "recoil" spring's function...its purpose...is returning the slide. Whatever else it does is incidental. As long as it does that reliably, it's doing its job.

If not listed by model measure OD, wire diameter and coils per inch. Call Wolff and see if they have a match.
