Been squirrel hunting with dogs for a few years now and have always used a shotgun. This morning my father in law persuaded me to borrow one of his many .22 rifles. He selected for me his Remington model 550-1 and I must say it beat the brakes of the only .22 I ever owned (marlin model 60). I'm way out of practice with a rifle but I managed to hit a squirrel in the top of a 3 story hardwood while the wind was making the tree sway and it was scurrying around. Gut shot the poor thing but it knocked him out of the tree for the dog to finish off. Just curious anyone else own one of these and find it to be more accurate than other similar rifles? Or was I just getting lucky since this was my first time squirrel hunting with a rifle.
