I am new to Carolina Forum.

I have a Remington Model 24 short S/N 24521 that feeds multiple cartridges. There seems to be a missing alignment/stop spring. There is one listed in the parts breakdown but I can't find it in the gun. I have located one on line that I will purchase if I can find where it goes and how it installs. Does anyone have a early model 24 that they can take a picture of the guide/stop spring so I can determine if that is what I am missing and how it goes into the gun?

I have one. I won't be able to get a picture until tomorrow evening, though.

Search "Remington Model 24 Cartridge Stop" on eBay and you will find good pictures of the part, removed from the gun.

Thanks for the reply. I found a picture of the part but I can't see how it goes into the frame of the gun or how it works. does it hold the cartridge stop in place or is it a separate stop?

Here is the receiver, upside down, bolt rearward (top of pic)

Thanks for the picture. I think that my 24 is older than that. There is no plunger at the cartridge exit on my receiver and no screw on the side of the receiver to install one.. This is the part that I think that I am missing, but I can not see, understand, how to install it https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/186380B .

My Model 24 is from 1929... I think the cartridge stop is that plunger with spring that you can see on the left side of the carrier. I don't know what the Cartridge Guide Stop Spring is...

You would think that the part you are missing would be described here, but I did not see it...

Thanks for the video. It did not show the cartridge guide stop spring. I have ordered a repair manual for the model 24. I hope that the guide stop spring is included.

i will let you all know what I find.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I have some more inherited guns that I will be working on.
