I tried searching a couple different areas of the forum but have come up empty. Seems to be no thread on the stuff. Anybody else using it? Its marvelous, just marvelous.

It's da bomb.... but expensive, use sparingly.....
Its not too bad, the big jar I have was $19.45 on Amazon. I did two revolvers and two autos last night and put just a dent in the jar. A little goes a looong way.

What is it?
It's a high quality wax that does a really nice job of bringing out the richness of a blued gun.

Some guys slather it under the grips of revolvers and other pistols to prevent rust. It's very effective and also does a fantastic job on wood itself.

I've heard great results on hunting rifles. Water beads right off any treated surface.

Leather, wood, marble, glass, ivory, paintings etc. Is what the jar says.

I'd be a liar if I said I didn't use it on a titanium watch I wear regularly.

Museums use it a lot on their stuff too. My LGS mentioned waxing a gun the other day. Bet it was this.

I'm working on my grandpas old J.C Higgins SxS 12ga right now. It has been dated to 1947 and the bluing still looks fantastic in most places. I'll post a before and after picture when I'm finished.

The camera on my phone sucks, sorry. It's kinda hard to tell the difference on the shotgun, the bluing already looked great on it. But the wax did deepen it just a bit. First pic is the before.

Johnson Paste Wax is good also. The yellow can. I have used it for many years but it seems most of the big box stores don't carry it anymore. Found a can last month at an old timey hardware store in Carthage.

I have a yellow can of Johnson Paste Wax. Had it so long, I don't remember where I got it. Good stuff.

I have a can of this and have never even thought about using it on my guns........ Interesting....... I might test it on my old XD.

I used the Renwax on my motorcycle jacket last night. It turned out better than it ever has after using the usual kiwi stuff.

I just got me a can so I will chime in once I have tried it. To do guns do you need to strip them of oil first or just wax on wax off?
Some people strip them first. Others just put it on.

Me personally. I just wipe the gun down with a clean fresh cloth to get any standing oil off. But I don't strip it down.

I put it on the 20ga that I beat around for squirrels. I'm really curious how it'll do come November.
