ReyCon, 'new' trainer in the Triangle...

ReyCon is an up-and-coming training company with a heart for educating the general public. We pride ourselves on our ability to relate to and provide state-of-the-art defensive classes relevant to today's threats and unpredictable events. Current events here in the US and abroad have presented new challenges concerning our personal and professional safety. The recent terrorist and shootings in Paris, San Bernardino, local theaters, schools, shopping malls, and public gatherings show the need to prepare and protect yourself and your family. Events such as these, and the current political call to control firearms, have caused a buying frenzy by the general public. It's the right of every law-abiding citizen to keep and bear arms. Unfortunately, the education needed to properly and safely handle and use a firearm for protection seldom comes with purchasing a firearm. Being prepared and educated is not only your right; it's your responsibility!

Where are the classes conducted?

Our upcoming Force on Force with airsoft should be a real eye opener if you have never done anything like it. It will incorporate CQB Pistol and Force on Force Training.

In looking at your web page, I see NC CHP and NRA certifications with no other experience or certifications listed (other than the martial arts belt). What other relevant training and experience do you have to be offering FOF, CQB, and tactical classes as none of the listed qualifications cover any of those topics?

Not a cent. When I posted this, I had no clue. I had gotten an email announcing their services.
I was just kidding. You asked the question and we basically got an ad. Thought was funny. You should have gotten training credits.

😄

I'm not sure why Bob and Shawn have not responded, but I've trained under both of them and they teach a good class. Neither one of them is a "promoter" type that brags on their own accomplishments.

This is a legitimate question, response please?

Not really the place to argue credentials. Come take a class. If you don't learn something I will personally refund your money.

I deleted my post because I am not the customer for this kind of training. So I really had no dog in the hunt.

But Shawn,
This answer I quoted is flat wrong.

You guys have the opportunity to market your services and explain the "why" and the "how" that makes your companies offerings worth attending.

If a public forum is "Not really the place to argue credentials" Then what is the proper place? A private forum then?

All that response did was add water to a sinking ship.

I am local and a potential customer. You advertise the Tactical Pistol class as being suitable for intermediate to “Special Operations” shooters.

What does that mean? The site lists general categories of drills for the class, but are you willing to give examples, expected par times, expected standards for students, etc.? Anything derived from or analogous to any other trainers’ classes (maybe someone from whom your instructors have learned)? Do students get run on a shot timer, benchmarked individually for performance, or forced to compete under pressure?

Do you have standards to which you hold your instructors that you think would be valuable to potential clients (instructors must be able to pass the FAMS qual, must meet or exceed certain par times on standards, etc.)?

We are working on a series of youtube videos to highlight our training, hopefully those will be starting to roll out later this summer. Also working on some guest trainers. Unfortunately the people that have taken out courses are not forum members here to post reviews other than one or two like @Chuckman and @Scsmith42. Our customers have been very pleased with the courses.

It is not just good business to engage in arguments about anything on the internet no one ever wins and both parties end up looking stupid. Shoot us an email we will call you and talk about your specific training needs and what we offer and why we think we offer a good product. We can discuss our credentials and how they apply to what you are looking for.

To what argument are you referring?

How is asking about qualifications an argument?

This times 1000.

There is no argument. The question asked is the same as asking a potential mechanic to which you want to take your car what training and certification they have. Or a contractor that you're considering hiring to work on your house. Etc.

I'm also not looking for an argument. I also have no clue what your customer base is, or how competent they are, so I cannot derive any information from the value of their pleasure. There's a million miles of difference (in both competence and expectations) between someone that has never taken an intermediate class, someone that maybe has some in-service LE or military pistol training, an IDPA Sharpshooter, and a USPSA Master.

I'm curious about your instructors' training/practical experience and a brief explanation of what the "Tactical Pistol" course entails. Is it a marksmanship/skills-and-drills course? Is it more focused on visual discrimination and judgment at speed? Positional shooting and working around vehicles?

I'm not asking out of ego/hostility. This information is valuable to anyone on this forum interested in a class (the folks to whom you are advertising), so I'm not going to email in private just to determine whether a class is appropriate. I absolutely agree that it's not good business to argue, but it's also confusing to see requests for salient information treated as an affront. If anything, we're asking you to brag on your cadre!

Are any of your instructors classified in USPSA or IDPA? Any other sanctioned competitive experience or classifications, like in NRA Conventional? Are they IALEFI certified? Graduates of any notable instructors or schools (Tom Givens, JJ Racaza, Tim Herron, Massad Ayoob, Larry Vickers, Aaron Cowan, Gunsite, Thunder Ranch, Frank Proctor, Ernest Langdon, Ben Stoeger, Shannon Smith...)? Do you use shot timers, run students head-to-head, or have any certain benchmark drills for tracking student development?

A YouTube video of a mechanic turning wrenches should suffice...(?)

Updated our qualifications. Web site is still a work in progress and will continue to update. All of Bob's credentials are listed now, working on the others. Thank you for looking.
