Rivet gun/press

They're pretty cheap at the local hardware stores - under 20 bucks and quite handy for other projects!

I think you are think on a blind rivet gun. I am pressing solid rivets; think something like what an AK uses.

In any case, I might have a solution in a week or two. Just wanted to see if I could get this done today.

I have a press but you would have to make the tooling for the rivets. I would use a air hammer if I where you though.

Short Fuse, if I had a compressor I would have bought an air hammer and a proper bucking bar. But I don't. :(

HMP, I got last night the die set for a proper rivet squeezer. I have no squeezer but I was then able to press in the most important rivet with a die and my little 1ton arbor press. I can do the other 5 rivets later.

I made a bucking bar from a railroad spike and used an air hammer. I modified the tool in the air hammer to the profile of the rivet with a dremel. Worked like a charm without tons of expense, but then again, I didn't really care if the rivets looked "factory/arsenal perfect". Don't get me wrong, unless you look really close, they look just fine and my gun can't tell the difference.

It's a bit of a drive for you, but I've got the correct jigs, press, etc. If you need a hand, just shoot me a PM
