So, I brought my bow with me this trip along with a dozen aluminum arrows.
On what was my last group for this trip, I was getting the tightest 10 yard group I've had in a while.
Let one fly and heard the sound on plastic cracking and pieces hit the floor.
Robin hoods don't happen very often shooting traditional, no sites.
I'm gonna try cutting the end flush and using the same type of nock I have on my carbon arrows

Hitting a nock isn't a RH. When you bury the shaft of one into the other is a RH...
I suspect that the hard plastic nock deflected just enough. Split the nock in two pieces and split the end of the shaft.
Probably as close as I could get with the aluminum arrows.

This is one that I shot years ago. Brand new arrows. Is embedded almost 9".

Now that's a RH. Nice shooting man.

Bad thing is now after shoulder surgery, I don't think I can even pull my bow any more.

Can you swim? If so, that may help your shoulder quite a bit.
I have degenerative osteoarthritis in my left (draw) shoulder. For a few years I couldn't throw a ball without sharp pain.
When I started doing stretches and swimming a lot I stopped having pain in my shoulder.

Nice job. I never want to get a rh. I dont want to mess up me arrows. What bow are you using? I shoot traditional also.

I hit and broke two nocks yesterday shooting my Samick Volcano recurve at 20 yards at my backyard range. I was shooting some tight groups....at least for some of the session. I had several Easton Legacy arrows with damaged/missing feathers so I just replaced the nocks when I refletched the other arrows. You hit that one good since it actually broke the cone of the arrow. Yeah I think an insert type nock may work as a fix.

Found the fix for this. Uni bushing from Easton. Squared the end off. Ordered the Uni bushings and nocks from 3 rivers.
They will be at the house when I get back from this China trip.
The Archery guy at Field and Stream was very helpful in identifying what specific parts I needed even though they didn't have them in stock. An archer, not a sales guy. Pretty cool. If you have been there it is the guy with the bad hair piece. (It is bad when you can tell it is a rug)
