I’m in the process of building a P320 and just ordered one of the Sig pro cut slides. They are cut for either the Leupold DPP or the Sig Romeo 1 Pro. I typically steer clear of Sig optics, and would definitely not consider one for pistol use, but the new Pro model has me intrigued. It seems to have quite a few improvements over the original Romeo and has been getting great reviews. I like the DPPs and have a couple of them, but they are so damn big that you have to use ridiculous tall sights it you want it to co-witness.

This will probably mainly be for range use and maybe some competition if ammo prices ever come down, but I may carry it and I like for all of my stuff to be reliable enough for that use if I choose. So does anyone have any experience with these, and what do you think?

I have been using one on a 320 in competition for about a year. Im happy with it. Too bad you have already ordered the slide because you can find the slide with the dot already mounted and save a good bit of money

I have a used dpp I’m getting rid of. Let me know if you’re interested.

if it were me thought I’d get a C&H plate and run a holosun 508/509t

Appreciate it, I’m trying to use something different with this one. While I like the DPP and have them on 2 pistols already, I do not like how huge and tall they are.

I considered the C&H plate but I’m trying to avoid adapters if I can.

Have you experienced any issues with it so far, like dot flicker or poor battery life?

yeah I saw some slide/optic combos, but went ahead and bought this one separate as it was ins stock at a place I was already ordering a bunch of part from.

So far mine has been great . Still on first battery after a year. I just picked up a compact slide with suppressor Height night sights and Romeo 1 pro for $510 shipped

That’s an excellent deal

The dot flicker issue seems to be people not using a torque wrench for batter cover install. It needs to be threaded on carefully and given 10-12 in-lbs.

The R1P is a superior option to the DPP based on battery life alone. They hold zero well and are appreciably lower to the bore in the Sig DPP cut, even with the shroud. The control interface is superior and the dot is plenty bright on 7 or 8 out of 10—does not wash out in bright sunlight or with a WML.

I think the new RXS-250 from Bushnell might be a dark horse in that footprint if it holds up well. $250 or lower, thick aluminum housing, 2032 top load battery, lower profile than the DPP as well. It’s a little unproven so far but the torture tests have been impressive.

Romeo1Pro with shroud on one Sig and one CZ. Sig has been used as my ccw and steel challenge gun. Only two problems found: Torque the battery lid to spec eliminates one of them (dot failure to appear), purchase a leather holster made to the specific gun/caliber/optic or be miserable. The P320 in .45 cal has a wider slide than the P320 M17. Not a lot, but enough to slow your draw speed considerably. I carry iwb, so just snug is fine, but the holster maker can make allowances. Neither issue is the fault of the gun or sight, but something to be aware of. I have Romeo1’s that have never failed since purchased, just like my ROMEO1PRO, RMR, DPP and Burris FASTFIRE II & III. I carry every step, and every day, as some wise fella recommends, shoot quite a few thousand rounds monthly, and none of the Sig sights have failed, but then, none of the others have either. The shroud is a positive addition if you bump into door frames 🤦🏻‍♂️

Just an update on this optics footprint, the guys at Gunsite have updated a thread on pistol-forum.com regarding the Bushnell RXS-250, and they advise it is confirmed duty-grade (review samples dropped from headheight, thrown down range without loss of function or zero).

That's very interesting. Bushnell is making moves lately.

I had the R1P on my 320 Xcompact. Bought the RXP slide with the R1P and XRay3 suppressor height sights from Proven Outfitters like Derek8404 above.
it was my introduction to red dots, and was a great experience for me all a round. Easy to zero, and held zero on my EDC, fast pick up from the draw, great battery life especially with the Motac function.

Had this thing for a few months now and so far I really like it. I much prefer this over the DPP, the profile is lower and I can could actually use the standard height sights as back ups in a pinch. The dot is the crispest of any of my red dots (holosun, Trijicon and Leupold) and as long as it holds up well, I think this will be a keeper.

Still have a DPP to offload?
