Hey folks! Figured I'd take my first non-introduction thread to ask a relevant question. For those who have shot a Ruger American in 45ACP, did it feed reliably for you with no modifications needed? Specifically, did it feed reliably with cheaper ammunition and/or handloads? I know I'll get some sneers, but I'm mostly talking Perfecta and Tula for cheap plinking/range ammo. When I looked at one in a local gun store, I was pleased to see the feed ramp was less steep than a 1911's, so it gave me good hopes. But I want to hear a firsthand account before I commit to anything just yet. Any thoughts or statements to be had?
I'm considering the Ruger for its cheap price, good trigger (from what I can tell), and my previous experiences with Ruger firearms (including my CCW) being all positive.
