Hey folks! Figured I'd take my first non-introduction thread to ask a relevant question. For those who have shot a Ruger American in 45ACP, did it feed reliably for you with no modifications needed? Specifically, did it feed reliably with cheaper ammunition and/or handloads? I know I'll get some sneers, but I'm mostly talking Perfecta and Tula for cheap plinking/range ammo. When I looked at one in a local gun store, I was pleased to see the feed ramp was less steep than a 1911's, so it gave me good hopes. But I want to hear a firsthand account before I commit to anything just yet. Any thoughts or statements to be had?

I'm considering the Ruger for its cheap price, good trigger (from what I can tell), and my previous experiences with Ruger firearms (including my CCW) being all positive.

Should be reliable as most Ruger's are. Not on my list of wants but if it fits your needs pick one up.

What Wahoo95 said. And, no sneers. If a gun won't run on cheap practice ammo I don't need it in my collection.
