Here goes...
Got one at Fuqua Guns and Gold. Apparently they sold all they had yesterday, but a competition buddy that has shot IDPA with me many times when I ran a Shield in competition put one up for me before I asked.
But i have to have 2...1 for carry, and 1 for competition. So I drove to Ed's... [because I'm not right...obviously], and grabbed another.

If you think the Shield is too small for your hands...check out the plus; the grip is larger now, and it feels better in my opinion. I liked the aggressive grip of the Shield 2.0, The Plus is dialed back a bit. Its still good, and far superior than the Shield 1.0. There's really only a little bit of a difference. You'd need a new plus and 2.0 side by side to tell the difference.

The slide from the 1.0, 2.0, and plus is the same. I switched the slide on the 2.0 and plus. They both fit, and fire fine. Below is a pic of both guns with the slides switched.

The Plus fits in all my Shield leather and Kydex holsters perfect..

The trigger is better than the 2.0 version. The pull weight is slightly better, and the reset is basically the same. I'm not sure if this is just because the shoe alters the pull or not.
Every Shield and M&P I buy gets the Apex kit. The hinged trigger shoe on the Shield has been fine for me, so I mainly get just the Apex duty kit. If you hate the hinged M&P shoe, you'll like this semi flat shoe much better. I believe once properly broke in, the new trigger is good enough that you can skip the Apex kit altogether.
I'm still getting the Apex kit though.

Its quite stiff brand new, but it felt much better after 200 rounds.

Just discovered something. The mag release is different on the Shield plus than the previous Shields.

With the gun fully loaded 13+1 the mag release is hard to push to drop the magazine. Download it one round, and it goes away. Works just fine in all other cases. This gun is still not broke in though.

2nd edit to add
What I learned from all the Shields I've owned, is true for the plus. They have a crazy stiff recoil spring that will choke on underpowered ammo. 125 power factor through a Glock 34 will not be 125 through a Shield.
I've found that the Shield will eat any ammo that chrono's 130 through a G34 or CZ Shadow 2, with zero problems.

More pics below.

I have put quite a few rounds through the small guns. In my hands the Shield just shoots better than the G43 and G43x. Can't figure out why. The Glocks just have more muzzle flip.
Below are a few pics of the Plus besides a G43x20210317_171715.jpg 20210317_161816_copy_756x1008.jpg20210317_162114_copy_756x1008.jpg20210317_162247_copy_756x1008.jpg20210317_162306_copy_756x1008.jpg

If the gun performs the same as the 1.0 and 2.0 Shield through 1000 rounds, then my search for the perfect concealed carry gun (for me) is over.
The Plus shoots exactly the same as the other Shields. You just have a bit wider grip.

Will one of you fellas hurry up and decide you don't like yours so I can buy it cheap...... no? Well, shoot guess I'll be picking one up soon at the LGS, LOL. Thanks for the review and pictures. Keep us updated on the round count and if you have any issues.

Thanks for the pictures and the review

how would you rate the new style texture for conceal carry? I loved the 2.0 I had, but I did have to lightly sand it down to not eat me up.

Do either of yours having difficult dropping the slide using the slide lock? That was the only negative thing Iā€™ve seen in any of the YouTube videos Iā€™ve seen so far
Called Fuquay earlier and they have no time frame of when they would get more in and they were not doing a cal list

I like single stack mag for more better reliability. I ran a 38 super double stack for years in IPSC. Had to spray tubes with silicon to keep them running. Luv my Shields though. Need a couple more for my collection. Hopefully this will drive the price of 1.0 nd 2.0's down.

Yeah, the slide stop is really stiff on both of the ones I bought.
One thing I learned running the small subcompact guns in competition is that it is necessary to slingshot that slide on the reload instead of using the slidelock under pressure. I got a lot of screw ups reloading that way, especially with hollow points. I have never had one problem slingshotting the slide under pressure.

The compact and full size guns have been fine using the slide stop. Not sure why that is.

Thanks for the review. Good info. The size issue and Mag capacity was why I quit carrying my shield as my every day carry gun. I went to a Taurus PT111 G2 but based on this review I would consider a new larger shield.

It looks like in pictures it's almost the same size grip as the g43x if the 9plus has a 13 rounder in it. Is this the case?

It is almost...but the bottom of the grip of the Shield is rounded, and doesn't print like the 43x.
Thats mainly because of that Glock hump.
But if you have the 10 rounder in, the Shield is shorter.

And I assume the m&p trigger is better as well?

I bought an Overwatch Precision trigger, a Ghost edge connector, a reduced power safety plunger, and a rounded safety plunger, and with all that (the Overwatch is 135$) it is close to the stock Shield plus trigger.
Both are the same weight, but the Shield has a shorter reset.
And this is with a Shield I haven't sufficiently broke in yet. The Glock is broken in, and it is smoother.
Stock G43x trigger...no contest the Shield is better.

Edited to add that the reset is why I love the Shield. It fits me.

Also, if you have a G43, or G43x/G48 I cannot recommend the Overwatch Precision Falx trigger enough. It is amazing for a Glock.

Thanks for the review. I wanted a 43x but I guess this is the answer shield it is lol

Both are comparable. I would suggest holding them side by side. I've carried both guns, and they are great options.
At least with the Shield you don't have to replace the sights.

Gonna add this to the OP

@Starkherz199 you said "I switched the slide on the 2.0 and Plus. They both fit, and fire fine." Were you able to test the switched slides with live ammo in both the Plus and the M2.?
Some reviewer, I cannot remember which, said the M.2 slide wouldn't work on the Plus. Maybe They were guessing. I'm not looking to be picky and I really don't care beyond using my M.2 slide temporarily for the front fiber optic until I can get a new one from Dawson.

I am sold! It is time to start looking for one. Hopefully I can find one in a local shop. It sounds like they listened to all the feedback from customers and addressed each issue to improve this model. I really liked my shield but round count was an issue. I guess if I did not shop a wally world it would not matter as much but crazy stuff always seems to happen there.

Seriously man I stopped shopping at walmart about a year ago and my quality of life went way up. Not saying I can get away carrying a jframe in my food lion but the empolyees and fellow shoppers are so much nicer. Not as many screaming kids either.

I switched both, and fired a magazine through both guns. It did seem that the 2.0 slide was tight on the plus frame, but I chalked that up to the plus being brand new.
If you.look above, I have a pic of the slide switched above. I'll repost the 2.0 slide with the plus frame here.20210317_162833_copy_714x708.jpg

I just went outside, switched both, and fired 5 rounds with the 2.0 slide, and plus frame. Thats 2 times. The reviewer doesn't know what he's talking about. Switch away. I know I will.

Also, I have an aftermarket Steel recoil spring that I use for underpowered ammo (specifically says no +P 9mm). It works fine in the plus.

While ago I ran 100 Hollowpoints through it with no problems. The hotter the ammo, the better it shoots.

I have been running a Stainless Steel Guide Rod in my M.2 for a year or so. And I've got one to try in the Plus. I am hopeful....Makes racking the slide a whole lot easier and I have not had any malfunctions with it in the gun.

Use code MZB for 499

Speaking of Shield sights, any one know what the height is for the OEM front Shield sight, please. Want to order a f/o replacement.
